About Jane

About me

I qualified as a Body Control Pilates teacher in 2013.

Prior to this I had worked as a Town Planner, spending long periods of time sitting at a desk, and in my spare time running long distances. As a result I had terrible posture and lots of back pain. In 2008 I had surgery on my spine and as a result was encouraged to take up Pilates by my physiotherapist. This enabled me to have a greater understanding of my body as a whole, achieve better posture, and significantly reduce my back pain, as well as regaining confidence in my body and its abilities.

I am so passionate about the effect this had on my life I decided to train to become a teacher myself. I am now able to ride my bike, bend, lift and do everyday things without back pain. Without Pilates my back would not have allowed me to do this.

I am a qualified Level 3 Body Control Pilates teacher, as well as a Qualified Body Control Teacher of Pilates on the Reformer. I am currently working towards being a Level 4 Advanced Exercise Instructor. I continually update my skills and education by participating in a programme of Continued Professional Development, specifically on clinical, rehabilitation Pilates, matwork and Reformer.

I’ve attended Jane’s Pilates classes for the last 2 years at Headcorn village hall. Jane is a brilliant and experienced instructor. She helps people of all age, need and experience. For me it’s helped with my horse riding, keeping flexible and relaxed, as well as having fun! Its a very friendly class too.
